Part-Time Web Internship, Publications, Washington, DC

The US-China Business Council (USCBC) is a private, nonprofit, nonpartisan, membership association for US corporations engaged in business relations with the People's Republic of China. Founded in 1973, USCBC provides its members with consulting and information services, and holds meetings and conferences for members on a wide range of business topics. USCBC also publishes the leading US magazine on China trade, the China Business Review, and takes an active role on US policy issues relating to China and international trade.
The USCBC's Publications Department seeks a part-time web intern with excellent attention to detail, proofreading, organization, research, and writing skills to assist in website projects.
The Publications Department web internship is a paid, part-time position (15-20 hours per week); starting pay is $8.00 per hour. All internship work must be performed in USCBC's Washington office. Preference will be given to candidates willing to make at least a one-year commitment.
Duties
- Web-page proofreading
- Database and online library maintenance and organization
- Fact checking and online research
- Maintaining web contact and link lists
- Administrative/program support as required
Requirements
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational ability;
- Must be able to work independently and on deadline;
- An excellent command of English grammar and spelling is required, knowledge of Chinese a plus;
- Strong Internet and MS Office skills--knowledge of html and web software a plus but not required.
