USCBC Beijing 2025 China Operations Conference & Reception
NEW YORK—February 18, 2025—Members of the US-China Business Council (USCBC), a private, nonpartisan, nonprofit organization of more than 270 American companies that do business in China, today met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi while he was in New York to chair a UN Security Council meeting.
“USCBC appreciates the opportunity to meet with Foreign Minister Wang Yi to discuss the American business community’s priorities in the China market,” USCBC President Sean Stein said. “We urge China to address its ‘phase one’ commitments and long-standing economic barriers that disadvantage American companies, farmers, and workers, and we encourage the Chinese and US governments to strengthen mechanisms for coordination on commercial and other bilateral challenges.”
USCBC was represented in the meeting by Dr. Brendan Nelson AO, president of Boeing Global; Joanne Crevoiserat, CEO of Tapestry, Inc.; Ernie Thrasher, founder, president, and CEO of Xcoal Energy & Resources; and John Waldron, president and COO of Goldman Sachs.
They were joined by others from the National Committee on US-China Relations, US Chamber of Commerce, and Council on Foreign Relations.
Established in 1973, USCBC represents many of the world’s most iconic brands operating in China and for more than 50 years has advocated on behalf of its members, while promoting the many benefits of commercial exchange between the United States and China.
