The State Information Center (SIC) reports to the National Development and Reform Commission. It is responsible for providing support for the government's macroeconomic control decisions and also providing economic information services. It also performs such functions as planning, guiding, and coordinating the work of information departments under the planning committees of governments at different levels. Its advantages include network and database construction, economic forecasting and analysis, software, system integration and technological services.
