NCSSF, established in September 2000, is a special supplementary fund used by the central government for social security. The management of the national social security fund is based on the Provisional Rules of Management for the National Social Security Fund. It shoulders the main responsibilities related to the financial management and accounting of the national social security fund. This includes selecting professional and qualified asset management companies to operate and maintain the social security fund's assets. The NCSSF has a chair, vice chairs, and various directors, all of whom are appointed by the State Council.
