National Security Investment Reviews: A Look at the US and Chinese Systems
The United States and China have both taken steps to strengthen foreign investment security reviews. In December, China issued new rules governing national security reviews for foreign investment, and since 2018 the Department of Treasury has been progressively implementing updates to the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) process for reviewing national security implications of FDI in the United States. Government Procurement: Policy Changes in the US and China
Over the past two years, the United States and China have proposed major changes to government procurement policies. China released revised drafts of the Tendering and Bidding Law and the Government Procurement Law, as well as a new Foreign Investment Law, which promises equal treatment in the procurement process for foreign-invested enterprises in China.
