Arthur Kroeber - Head of Research
Arthur Kroeber is head of research at Gavekal, a financial-services firm based in Hong Kong and founder of the China-focused Gavekal Dragonomics research service. He divides his time between Beijing and New York. Before founding Dragonomics in 2002, he spent fifteen years as a financial and economic journalist in China and South Asia. He is a senior non-resident fellow of the Brookings-Tsinghua Center, an adjunct professor at the Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs and at the NYU Stern School of Business, and a member of the National Committee on US-China Relations. His book, China’s Economy: What Everyone Needs to Know, was published by Oxford University Press in April 2016.
Dan Wang - Technology Analyst
Dan Wang writes on China’s technology progress and the effects of US regulatory actions. In particular, he tracks China’s semiconductor capabilities, US measures on export controls, the pace of supply chain relocation, and broader Chinese industrial policy. He has given keynotes for a variety of organizations, and his work is widely cited in the press. He is a contributor to Bloomberg Opinion. Dan previously worked in Silicon Valley and studied philosophy at the University of Rochester.
