The China Development Forum Special Session 2019 (Non-USCBC event)
The China Development Forum is a major state-level international forum held every March since 2000. In order to adapt to the rapidly changing domestic and international situation, the secretariat of the Forum has decided to establish an additional SPECIAL SESSION from September 2018 to provide a platform for open and pragmatic dialogue among senior Chinese government officials, global business leaders, international organizations and Chinese and foreign scholars.
The CDF Special Session 2019 will focus on "Trade, Openness and Shared Prosperity" and engage Chinese and foreign business circles, scholars and government officials in discussions on China-U.S. economic and trade frictions, national security in globalization, cross-border digital trade regulation, and future-oriented intellectual property protection systems. On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, the SPECIAL SESSION will also review the modernization of China, look ahead into the future, and discuss new initiatives such as the FTZ, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and the Belt and Road Initiative.
The participants of CDF SPECIAL SESSION will be mainly targeted at leading companies in emerging economies, rising high‐tech enterprises and SMEs in strategic and traditional industries throughout the world in addition to the Fortune 500 companies. Given the arrangement of the “two sessions in a year”, onsite discussions at the SPECIAL SESSION will be more focused and in‐depth during the one-and-a-half-day event. Program design will also be able to reflect the dynamics of macro policies and economic trends in a timely manner.
