Mastering Cross-Border Cybersecurity, Compliance, and Investigations (In-person Only)

USCBC is pleased to be hosting an in-person event in Beijing in collaboration with Grant Thornton and WilmerHale, discussing best practices on creating compliance programs, dealing with internal investigations, and the intersection with evolving requirements for cross-border data transfers (CBDT). Panelists will also explore how legal and accounting firms can be used in conjunction with each other, and how businesses can leverage both types of services when tackling the varied compliance issues that multinationals in China face.

 

Speakers Introduction:

  • Dr. Tim Klatte, Partner, Head of Forensic Advisory Services | Grant Thornton 
    • Dr. Klatte currently leads the Shanghai Forensic Advisory Services business for Grant Thornton China. He holds 30 years of China-related experience. With both Deloitte (2004-2014) and Grant Thornton (2016-present), Dr. Klatte has focused on Forensic Advisory to develop, manage, and enhance ethics & compliance programs. Leveraging his risk management background, he prioritizes and builds sustainable ethics & compliance programs for clients in China’s complex and changing business environment.

 

  •  Kenneth Zhou, Partner | WilmerHale
    • Mr. Zhou has been with WilmerHale for twenty years. His practice focuses on foreign direct investment, cross-border mergers and acquisitions, private equity/venture capital, joint ventures and strategic alliance, general corporate and business transactions, anti-trust and regulatory matters, cybersecurity and data privacy, and international dispute resolution. He has advised many multinational corporations in a wide range of industrial sectors with respect to their strategic expansion, investments and business operations in China and Asia.
