Reshuffle: The 19th Party Congress in Review

Featuring Benjamin Lim, North Asia Specialist Correspondent at Reuters & Other Key Experts

Now Scheduled for Friday, October 27th – Date Change

President Xi faces a number of daunting challenges as the all-important 19th Party Congress approaches: North Korean missile tests, an economic transition, and uncertain US-China relations. And then there’s the Party Congress itself. Five of seven members of the Politburo have reached the age of retirement, meaning a potential reshuffle of China’s most senior leadership. And, if the previous Party Congress is any indication, President Xi and the Party will be expected to outline new policy directions for economic development, diplomacy, and more.

After the dust has settled, Benjamin Lim, North Asia Correspondent at Reuters, will lead a discussion on the wide-ranging implications of the Party Congress, including an analysis of President Xi’s new leadership team.

Please join the US-China Business Council for this exclusive event on Friday, October 27. Due to scheduling concerns, this is different from a previously-advertised date.
