Understanding Southeast Asia’s Role in US-China Trade & Geopolitical Competition

Southeast Asia is playing an increasingly important role in US-China trade and geopolitical competition. Southeast Asian countries have benefitted in recent years from increased trade and investment from the United States and China, driven in part by tensions between the two countries which have encouraged the US and Chinese governments to strengthen their respective relationships in the region and encouraged companies to diversify their supply chains.
