USCBC Delegation to Changsha, Hunan Province

US-China Business Council (USCBC) Vice President for China Operations Piper Stover will lead a delegation of member companies to Changsha, Hunan Province on September 13, 2013. This US-China Investment Program is organized in conjunction with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and will bring together a diverse group of stakeholders from central and local governments, as well as Chinese companies interested in both inbound and outbound investment with the United States.

Hunan Province Vice Governor He Baoxiang (何报翔) will deliver a keynote address and also attend an exclusive dinner for USCBC delegates. Meeting attendees also include leadership from the Hunan Commerce Department, Changsha Customs, Commodity Inspection Bureau, Foreign Affairs Office, Hunan Development and Reform Commission, Department of Finance, Hunan SASAC, Financial Office, Department of Culture, Tourism Bureau and various Hunan local city officials, Hunan province development zones, and local branches of CCPIT. Chinese companies will also be in attendance, including 30 provincial level state-owned enterprises and 50 local CCPIT member companies, as well as representatives from Sany, Zoomlion,Yuanda, Hualing Steel and XEMC. Hunan was ranked the 10th largest provincial economy in China in 2012, with total GDP reaching US $355.28 billion and a population of 66 million. The province has prioritized the development of modern equipment manufacturing, new energy, and new materials sectors in recent years, and has established development zones and pilot projects in IT and agriculture industries.

USCBC will coordinate logistics and details for delegation participants directly with CCPIT. Though participants will be responsible for covering the costs of air travel and lodging at hotels arranged by CCPIT, there is no cost associated with attending the program itself.
