Thursday’s amendment reflected Romney’s assessment of the omnibus bill’s chances of making it “across the finish line” in time for the Olympics, which begin in February, said Anna Ashton, vice-president of government affairs at the US-China Business Council. “Adding this to the NDAA does make it very likely that it will be included in whatever is the final package there and that it will become law,” Ashton said. “I don’t see the political will, by any large group of members of Congress, to push back against it.”
