For a number of years, on a political level, tensions between the United States and China have remained heightened. China is a very competitive economic partner to the United States - the key word here being a partner. As of 2020, the trade relationship accounts for more than one million American jobs. Accordingly, American companies exported $188 billion in Goods and Services Exports to China. This is a competitive relationship, but it is mutually beneficial to both countries in many ways.
