China-US Ties: Presidents Xi and Biden agree to keep open communication despite tensions over Taiwan

"Our organization – the US China Business Council opposed the tariff when they were proposed four years ago by the prior US administration. We felt then and we've seen since then that our member companies and other US companies have been hard on US consumers, there's also Chinese tariffs in place as well as US tariffs. This harm happens both ways in commerce between our countries. We continue to make the case to both governments as to why rolling them back is a mutual interest with benefits for both countries."
