President of the United States-China Business Council, Craig Allen, once served as commercial attaché at the US Embassy in Beijing in the early 1990s. "I think that the Belt and Road Initiative is developing infrastructure in places that are often times difficult, that are lacking in infrastructure. I think that it is very painfully obvious that those places need better infrastructure. To the extent that infrastructure is being built that is needed and is economically useful, I think that is a good thing."
