According to a 2021 report from the US-China Business Council (USCBC), US goods exported to China “surged” up nearly 18% from the previous year by $18.5 billion, a third of which came from Texas which exported $6.3 billion in oil and gas products to China, a $4 billion leap from the previous year. “This jump in fossil fuel sales also helped stimulate an export jump in neighboring Louisiana, where oil and gas exports rose by $1.7 billion,” the report said.
