In the current congressional session, convened just before US President Joe Biden took office in January 2021, legislators have introduced over 400 bills or resolutions related to China, according to the US-China Business Council. A small number have passed, but almost all frame China as a competitor or adversary. The Uygur Forced Labour Prevention Act of 2021 and the Chips and Science Act of 2022 are among the landmark legislation passed this term.
