10/25/2021 According to the US-China Business Council member survey in July 2021, 95 percent of the responding companies said they made profits in the Chinese market last year, and 78 percent said the Chinese market is better than other emerging markets. An AmCham Shanghai member survey released on Oct 6 showed that 82.2 percent of the companies expect their revenue to increase in 2021, and 77.9 percent are optimistic about their business in China at least for the next five years.

“On the other hand, they also have been vocal in the last 10 years, especially about problems, long-festering problems that are spelled out in the Section 301 report that multinationals have with China. So, they’re frustrated, and they were initially, the US-China Business Council and organizations like that were pretty positive on the section 301 reports, right? They just don’t like tariffs, and would like to have those problems resolved and tariffs also go away.”
