Fu Zhenghua became minister of justice in 2018. He served as vice minister of public security from 2013 to 2018. From 2010 to 2013 he served as the director of public security for Beijing municipality.
Fu headed up the corruption investigation of former security czar Zhou Yongkang, one of the senior most officials brought down under President Xi’s anti-corruption campaign. He also led an investigation into “malicious trading” that caused the 2015 stock market crash.
Fu was born in 1955, and joined the CPC in 1973.
