USCBC Expresses Optimism Ahead of Trump-Xi APEC Talks
WASHINGTON—OCT 29, 2025—Ahead of tomorrow’s anticipated meeting between President Donald Trump and President Xi Jinping, USCBC President Sean Stein noted the US deals in Southeast Asia and expressed his optimism for positive outcomes from the two leaders’ talks. The meeting marks a significant moment in US-China relations, amid ongoing discussions about trade and tariffs, technology, fentanyl, and other issues.
“Following a string of fantastic deals in Southeast Asia, we are looking forward to the announcement of a great deal in Korea between the US and China — a deal that will yield immediate benefits to American farmers, workers, and businesses. This will serve as a foundation for an even bigger deal in the future when both leaders exchange visits.”
The US-China Business Council (USCBC) is a private, nonpartisan, nonprofit organization of American companies that do business in China. Established in 1973, USCBC represents many of the world’s most iconic brands and for more than 50 years has advocated on behalf of US business while promoting the many benefits of commercial exchange between the US and China.
The bilateral meeting, scheduled for October 30 in South Korea, will occur on the sidelines of APEC, which annually brings together leaders from 21 Pacific Rim economies to discuss economic cooperation and trade liberalization.
