WASHINGTON — December 3, 2025 — The US-China Business Council (USCBC) today hosted a visiting delegation from the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), led by Chairman Ren Hongbin. The roundtable discussion focused on the evolving US-China commercial relationship and included US and Chinese business executives.

In his opening remarks, Ren stated that businesses in both countries can help drive implementation of the consensus reached by Presidents Donald Trump and Xi Jinping in South Korea in late October. Ren also stressed the importance of global supply chain security and bilateral cooperation in areas like technology.

USCBC President Sean Stein applauded the bilateral consensus and expressed hope for meaningful dialogue and outcomes throughout 2026, China’s Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) host year. “American companies are eager to participate in a constructive and substantive way, whether through policy exchanges, business dialogues, or sector-specific conversations on supply chain resilience, energy transition, healthcare, digital innovation, or services,” he said.

Both Stein and Ren pointed to upcoming bilateral diplomatic engagements as an opportunity for deeper USCBC-CCPIT cooperation.
