China’s Expansive New Cyber Law Throttles Data Flow

China’s final cybersecurity law restricts the flow of data overseas, mandates security product reviews, and creates other provisions that will challenge how foreign companies can operate in the country. The National People’s Congress (NPC) Standing Committee ignored the concerns of foreign companies and the US-China Business Council and passed the law November 7. It will take effect June 1, 2017.
