Widening differences between the US and China, and more US tariffs are likely

The United States and China have yet to resolve their major differences on how to resume negotiations. Though both sides continue to have discussions over the phone, no in-person talks have been scheduled so far. Patience appears to be wearing thin within the Trump Administration, and the chance that both sides will fall back into stalemate and further escalate tariffs is growing.
