GM Gets Approval for Cadillac Plant in China

On May 7, General Motors Co. said China’s National Development and Reform Commission had granted it approval to built a Cadillac factory in Shanghai’s Jinqiao zone. GM said it expects construction to begin in June. By building the vehicles in China, GM will avoid China’s 25 percent import tariff on luxury vehicles, according to Bloomberg News.
