US-China Business Council Pleased with Progress on Initial Outcomes of “100 Days”
WASHINGTON, D.C., May 12, 2017 — In response to the Trump administration’s announcement of progress on 10 issues as part of the 100-day period designated by Presidents Donald Trump and Xi Jinping to bring better balance to the US-China commercial relationship, US-China Business Council (USCBC) President John Frisbie said:
“The US-China Business Council is pleased with the initial outcomes on trade issues made at this early stage of the 100-day period designated by Presidents Trump and Xi to bring better balance to the commercial relationship. USCBC and its members have engaged with both governments over the past month to highlight these and other issues for action. The announcement today signifies progress on issues important to the American economy.”
“Today’s announcement shows the two governments are moving quickly to follow up on last month’s presidential summit. Implementation matters, and more remains to be done. USCBC will continue to work with both governments to ensure these outcomes are realized and tackle additional areas of concern during the remainder of the 100 days and beyond.”
USCBC highlighted key issues in the bilateral relationship that need to be resolved for a balanced trade partnership in its annual Board Priorities Statement and more information about the US-China relationship can be found through USCBC’s Trade Facts infographic series.
