At our recent annual Gala, USCBC announced The Helen Foster Snow Foundation as the recipient of our Gives Back Award.

The Foundation is a nonprofit dedicated to building ties between the United States and China through education, collaboration, and people-to-people engagement. Named for American journalist and bridge builder Helen Foster Snow, the Foundation is committed to furthering the legacy of her Nobel Peace Prize-nominated work with the Gung Ho movement in China during the 1930s. The phrase Gung Ho, meaning “work together,” underpins the Foundation’s mission to close distances and differences through creative collaboration.

“Diplomacy doesn’t happen only in embassies or negotiating rooms. It also happens in classrooms, laboratories, and communities—where people discover common interests, build trust, and learn from one another. The Helen Foster Snow Foundation embodies that spirit, and we’re honored to recognize its extraordinary contribution to strengthening ties between the American and Chinese people,” said USCBC President Sean Stein.
