USCBC Beijing 2025 China Operations Conference & Reception
WASHINGTON—January 19, 2025—Members of the US-China Business Council (USCBC), a private, nonpartisan, nonprofit organization of 270 American companies that do business in China, today met with China’s Vice President Han Zheng, who traveled to Washington to attend President-elect Trump’s inauguration on Monday—a first for a senior Chinese leader.
“USCBC was pleased to meet with Vice President Han to discuss US business interests during his visit to Washington to attend President-elect Trump’s inauguration, as we see both sides coming together in this important and symbolic way as a positive development,” USCBC President Sean Stein said. “USCBC encourages comprehensive, outcomes-oriented commercial negotiations between the US and China, including to address structural policy reforms in China and regulatory barriers to selling US goods and services to China’s market. We also urge both governments to work together on global issues of common interest.”
In addition to President Stein, USCBC was also represented in the meeting by Board Chair Raj Subramaniam, CEO of FedEx Corporation; Vice Chair Geoff Martha, Medtronic Chairman and CEO; William S. Cohen, Chairman of The Cohen Group; and Chris Newkirk, Visa President of Commercial and Money Movement Solutions.
USCBC was also joined by representatives from the US Chamber of Commerce.
Established in 1973, USCBC represents many of the world’s most iconic brands operating in China and for more than 50 years has advocated on behalf of its members, while promoting the many benefits of commercial exchange between the US and China.
