USCBC Applauds President-Elect Trump’s Nomination of Former Georgia Senator David Perdue to Serve as Next Ambassador to China

WASHINGTON, DC—December 6, 2024—The US-China Business Council (USCBC), a private, nonpartisan, nonprofit organization of more than 270 American companies that do business in China, today issued the following statement applauding President-elect Trump’s selection of former US Senator David Perdue (R-GA) to be the next US ambassador to China.

“We welcome and congratulate former Senator Perdue as a pragmatic, pro-American business leader and thoughtful advocate for trade with China,” incoming USCBC President Sean Stein said. “USCBC looks forward to working with Senator Perdue to ensure American businesses face a level playing field in China, the world’s second largest economy, so that we can support a stable global marketplace and America’s leadership around the world.”

Established in 1973, USCBC represents many of the world’s most iconic brands operating in China and for more than 50 years has advocated on behalf of its members, while promoting the many benefits of commercial exchange between the United States and China.
