WASHINGTON — May 27, 2026 — Senior members of the US-China Business Council (USCBC) today met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in New York to discuss trade and investment issues.

USCBC members joined delegates from the National Committee on US-China Relations (NCUSCR) at the meeting, which also included representatives from universities and think tanks.

The meeting included discussion of market access issues, the importance of a level playing field for US companies in China, and the need for a fair, predictable, and stable business environment. The outcomes of the recent summit between President Trump and President Xi in Beijing were also discussed.

“Today’s meeting was an important opportunity to hear more about the important agreements reached by the two presidents in Beijing and to raise some of the most pressing issues affecting US business in China,” said USCBC President Sean Stein. “The consensus between President Trump and President Xi is bringing much needed stability and predictability to the relationship. We are now looking for the two sides to focus on the long-standing barriers and market access issues that harm business and undermine stability.”

Among the participants were USCBC Board Director and NCUSCR Executive Vice Chairman Evan G. Greenberg, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Chubb Limited; USCBC Board Director Craig Billings, Chief Executive Officer, Wynn Resorts; Robert M. Davis, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Merck & Co.; Stéphane de La Faverie, President and Chief Executive Officer, The Estée Lauder Companies; Michael Steen, Chief Executive Officer, Atlas Air Worldwide; Roger Lynch, Chief Executive Officer, Condé Nast; and USCBC President Sean Stein.

USCBC is a private, nonpartisan, nonprofit organization of major American companies that do business in China. Established in 1973, USCBC represents many of the world’s most iconic brands and for more than 50 years has advocated on behalf of US business while promoting the many benefits of commercial exchange between the US and China.
