USCBC Members Meet with Chinese Premier Li Qiang
WASHINGTON—September 25, 2025—Senior members of the US-China Business Council (USCBC) today met with Chinese Premier Li Qiang in New York to discuss trade and investment issues.
USCBC members joined delegates from the National Committee on US-China Relations at the meeting, which also included representatives of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Council on Foreign Relations.
The meeting included discussion of market access issues, creating a level playing field for US companies in China, the need for a predictable and stable business environment, and the importance of ongoing dialogue between senior US and Chinese leaders.
“Today’s meeting was an important opportunity to highlight the primary concerns of the US business community in China and to discuss the need for progress on longstanding issues affecting trade and investment,” said USCBC President Sean Stein. “Rebalancing US-China trade and commerce will help stabilize the bilateral relationship and build trust between the two countries, which would be good for both economies. The upcoming meeting between President Trump and President Xi is also a necessary and important first step.”
Among the participants were USCBC Board Chair Raj Subramaniam, President and Chief Executive Officer, FedEx Corporation; Board Vice Chair Ryan McInerney, Chief Executive Officer, Visa Inc.; Evan G. Greenberg, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Chubb Limited; Robert G.
