USCBC Remembers Fred Smith, FedEx Founder and Former USCBC Chairman
The US-China Business Council (USCBC) was saddened to learn of the passing of FedEx Founder and former CEO Fred Smith. Besides his huge success as an entrepreneur and builder of an iconic American company, Smith served as chairman of USCBC (2000-2001) during a pivotal era in US-China relations.
“Fred Smith not only founded one of America’s most recognized companies, but he also cared deeply about public policy and trade policy. He spent his life advocating for sensible regulations that enable business to thrive,” USCBC President Sean Stein said. “USCBC members benefited from Fred’s wise counsel, and he will be deeply missed.”
