Gala 2024
WASHINGTON, DC—November 7, 2024—Craig Allen, president of the US-China Business Council, a private, nonpartisan, nonprofit organization of more than 270 American companies that do business in China, today issued the following statement:
“USCBC congratulates President-elect Trump and those who have been elected to new and returning positions in the Congress and looks forward to working with them. We reaffirm the council’s longstanding practice of serving as a constructive resource to policymakers to advance the many benefits of a strong and stable US-China commercial relationship, not only for America but also the world.
“As we have for more than fifty years, USCBC champions public policies that support our US members’ businesses, a healthy US economy, and American jobs. This includes addressing unfair Chinese economic policies, US national security in clear and targeted ways, and unilateral US and Chinese actions that hurt American companies’ ability to compete globally.
“Despite ongoing challenges in the US-China relationship, we will continue to serve as a strong voice for American companies—many of whom are the world’s leading brands—that do business in China, as we remain united in the belief that trade makes the world a better, safer and more stable place.”
