WASHINGTON— September 19, 2025—USCBC was pleased that President Trump and President Xi had a fruitful phone call today. We are encouraged that the two presidents will meet on the sidelines of APEC in South Korea in November, and news of reciprocal visits next year is also very positive. Most encouraging, however, is the potential progress President Trump highlighted on fentanyl. Resolving this issue would reduce the human costs and open the door for China to repeal its tariffs on US agricultural products, and to resolve other trade deadlocks.

The US-China Business Council (USCBC) is a private, nonpartisan, nonprofit organization of American companies that do business in China. Established in 1973, USCBC represents many of the world’s most iconic brands and for more than 50 years has advocated on behalf of US business while promoting the many benefits of commercial exchange between the US and China.
