Melody Wang

Melody leads the litigation and investigations practice of A&O’s Joint Operation firm in China – Shanghai Lang Yue Law Firm.

Melody represents clients in high stakes commercial dispute resolution and investigations, often in a cross-border context. As an experienced advocate and negotiator, Melody is often called upon to assist with sensitive investigations and cross-border criminal litigation in China, helping clients before Chinese ministries and agencies.

She is also an established industry leader in the area of PRC state secrets, sovereign information, trade secrets and the data privacy regimes. Many of these matters have also involved a Chinese criminal law component. 

In addition to her work on behalf of clients before Chinese courts and government agencies, she has been appointed as an expert witness for numerous foreign proceedings (e.g., the U.S., Hong Kong and Singapore) involving Chinese law issues.

Melody is bilingual in English and Mandarin Chinese. She is a listed arbitrator with the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre. She is qualified in both the PRC and New York.
