Chinese investment in the United States has fallen from a peak of $46.5 billion in 2016 to only $5.4 billion in 2018. At the same time, Chinese investment and construction has also fallen on a global scale. What’s driving this and is it likely to continue for the foreseeable future? We talk with Derek Scissors, Resident Scholar at the American Enterprise Institute and the author of the China Global Investment Tracker.
