Business Advisory Services Research Intern

The US-China Business Council (USCBC) is a private, nonprofit, nonpartisan, membership association for American companies engaged in business with the People’s Republic of China. USCBC’s Business Advisory Services team is seeking one full-time intern to assist with research and policy monitoring. USCBC is hiring for the following paid position:
- One full-time (35 hours/week) internship starting January 2026
Interns are expected to work partially in the office and partially from home and therefore must be based in the DC-metro area for the entire internship. The internship will last for six months, with the possibility of renewal. This internship is an hourly paid position, with compensation in the range of $18-22 per hour. Applicants must have US work authorization for the internship. CPT and OPT holders are encouraged to apply.
Duties include:
- Monitor Chinese-language press and government sources; prepare daily summaries of relevant policy issues in English
- Assist with various research tasks and written deliverables on China-related business issues
- Complete written translations in Chinese and English
- Provide administrative/program support as required
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate degree or enrollment in a graduate program preferred; recent undergraduates may be considered.
- Knowledge of US-China economic and commercial issues and China’s political and economic systems, as well as a basic understanding of international economics and business terminology
- Native Chinese-language ability with strengths in reading and writing are preferred; those with professional-level proficiency (HSK 5 or above) will also be considered.
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Commitment to work 35 hours per week for a minimum of six months
- Strong, demonstrated research experience and analytical skills
- Ability to multitask
