WASHINGTON—January 19, 2024—The US-China Business Council (USCBC), a private, nonpartisan, nonprofit organization representing more than 275 American companies that do business in China, hosted a meeting between a Chinese delegation led by China’s Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs Tang Renjian and members of the American agricultural and business community in Washington yesterday. Chinese Ambassador to the United States Xie Feng and representatives of US agricultural trade associations were also in attendance. The event was preceded by a meeting between Minister Tang and US Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack.

USCBC issued the following statement:

“We are encouraged to see increased bilateral exchanges in agriculture between the US and Chinese governments. Such discussions are important to help address US agricultural stakeholder issues related to doing business in China and serve as a positive step in strengthening the bilateral trade relationship. We look forward to future exchanges between the US business community and China to build trust and expand cooperation in agriculture and other areas between both countries.”
