Statement on Iowa Gov. Branstad’s nomination to serve as China Ambassador

“USCBC looks forward to working with Governor Branstad in his new role.”

USCBC President John Frisbie:
“The US-China Business Council is pleased with the choice of Governor Terry Branstad to serve as ambassador to China. He comes to the position with first-hand perspective on the importance of the commercial relationship with China for state and local economies.

“USCBC was pleased to honor Governor Branstad in 2014 for his long commitment to the US-China relationship. As the governor said in remarks at that time, it is critical to get the China relationship right, on the basis of mutual respect and bettering the lives of the people of both our nations.

“USCBC and its membership look forward to working with Governor Branstad in his new role.”
