USCBC Beijing 2025 China Operations Conference & Reception
WASHINGTON—October 28, 2023—The US-China Business Council (USCBC), a private, nonpartisan, nonprofit organization representing more than 275 American companies that do business in China, today met with China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Washington and issued the following statement:
“We communicated to Foreign Minister Wang that we are encouraged by the increased bilateral engagement by both governments. We believe that regular, substantive, and outcome-oriented dialogue can help address bilateral disagreements, US commercial challenges in China, and issues of common global interest. Such discussions and a successful APEC meeting between President Biden and President Xi would help ease geopolitical tensions and further benefit our countries. We appreciate the opportunity to support the government-to-government working groups aimed at developing a more predictable US-China economic relationship and facilitating trade, the vast amount of which does not involve national security.”
The meeting took place after the recent release of USCBC’s annual member survey. The survey found that challenges stemming from the US-China relationship and China’s domestic policies are hindering more US companies’ performance, planning, and prospects in the China market than ever.
