Wal-Mart Will Invest $16.3 Million to Improve Food Safety in China

Over the next three years, Wal-Mart Stores Inc. will invest $16.3 million to improve food safety in its stores, according to a statement on May 9. The investment will go toward expanding a mobile food-inspection lab program to cover 70 stores in Guangdong, increasing supplier training, improving store standards, recruiting food safety experts, and expanding its fresh food distribution, according to Bloomberg News.
